A male patron at Deer Valley Ski Resort claimed that Gwyneth Paltrow skied into him while she was out enjoying a day of skiing with her family on an Intermediate ski run.
Mountain Graphix utilized GIS to create an accurate overall terrain and then utilized point cloud data scanned at the site during winter to building an accurate snow surface near the site of the incident.
The plaintiff in the case accused Paltrow of striking him from behind while Paltrow countered that it was he who struck her. Mountain Graphix was asked to recreate the accident with all of the participants near the area of impact.
Mountain Graphix was asked to recreate the incident from the testimony of Paltrow.
Video’s were created to give an overview of the incident and other were created from the perspective of other skiers at the scene, including ski instructors, family members and the two parties involved in the collision.
The forest was created based on Satellite imagery and other object in the scene such as snowmaking hydrants, rope lines and cabins were placed in the scene based on the scan data.
